Who am I? Just your average sports nut, history buff, food lover, random thinker and all around curious person. I’m a columnist for Soccer Newsday and work in volleyball social media (how’s that for a sports twin bill?). This blog, The Outlet, is my outlet for things I like to write about that doesn’t mesh with my usual media work.

I live near Seattle. I’ve done a lot in nearly 20 years in the media, having transitioned from traditional to digital, while also working as an archivist and in libraries. I’ve been accused of being a dreamer and I’m fine with that. Maybe those dreams will still happen. Who knows where this will lead, so welcome!

Want to follow me on Twitter? It’s @rmarcham, and it’s about as random as this. Maybe more so, except maybe a tad more sports over there.

Oh, and the photo in the header? My favorite spot. The view of Puget Sound from Brackett’s Landing Park in Edmonds, Wash.
